Chair's Welcome

Welcome to the Department of Health Management, a growing and dynamic group of academic and support staff dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, and service.

The Department of Health Management provides high-quality education to DVM students and postgraduates in the areas of animal production systems, large-animal internal medicine and surgery, theriogenology, population health, epidemiology, regulatory medicine, veterinary public health, and biostatistics. The Department also supports the Veterinary Teaching Hospital in the areas of large-animal medicine and surgery, and AVC’s farm service, which makes field calls to the region’s equine, dairy, beef, swine, and fish farms in the Atlantic region.

The Department’s 22 faculty members are responsible for teaching a large portion of the DVM curriculum, including a majority of the third- and fourth-year classes.
